Every guide carries the date we checked it
Advice with no date behind it is not information, it is marketing. Everything we publish says when it was last checked and where it comes from, so you can weigh it yourself.
We have no tour to sell you
We take no commission from Moroccan operators, riads or transport companies, and we do not run sponsored reviews. Nobody can pay to change a verdict or soften a safety warning.

How we make money
Some links earn us a commission when you book, at no extra cost to you, and we run display advertising. That is the whole of it.
Commission never decides what we recommend, and no partner sees a page before it publishes.
What we cannot do
We are a publication, not a travel agency. We cannot book your trip, arrange transport or act as your agent with an operator.
What we can do is tell you honestly what to expect before you go.
Asked on every trip
Before you go
Four questions, answered plainly, with the date each answer was last checked.
Do you need a visa to visit Morocco?
Most Western passports, including the EU, UK, US, Canada and Australia, enter visa-free for up to 90 days. What actually gets checked at the border is simpler than most blogs make it sound.
Check the full entry rulesIs Morocco safe in 2026?
Yes, on the measures that get quoted. Morocco scored zero on the 2026 Global Terrorism Index, joint 100th of 163 countries (Institute for Economics and Peace, March 2026), and Marrakech has a lower Numbeo crime index than London. The real risk is the road: 4,577 people died in Moroccan traffic in 2025.

Late March to May, or September to early November. Those windows give you the imperial cities and the desert without the heat, and the coast is still warm. Avoid high summer inland: July averages 37.7 degrees in Marrakech, which makes Fes and Merzouga genuinely unpleasant.

Book with a licensed operator, confirm in writing what is included, and never hand over the full amount in cash up front. Eight specific checks protect you from the common failures.
